Why?

We are driven by the desire for a better world.

Although Uganda was coined the most entrepreneurial country in the world, 95% of the ventures do not live beyond their first birthday. A broken ecosystem attributed to poor implementation of policies, lack of skilled talent, limited access to capital and poor market linkages has stifled the growth of entrepreneurship and more so, its role in socio-economic transformation.

Strategy.

The Next wave Program is focused on Market Creation for Entrepreneurship. The intervention offers ecosystem support for entrepreneurs across the country leveraging technology engagement platforms that perpetuate learning, skilling, investment and employment. The strategy is aligned with target groups including
  1. Entrepreneurs (Early stage to market launch)
  2. Youth looking for skill addition to be more marketable
  3. Underserved or Minority groups: – Refugees and women
Next Wave delivers a full suite of services required by Entrepreneurs to build and grow their Ventures. By providing ecosystem support, this increases the number of entrepreneurship opportunities created and the number of youth linked to opportunities. Next Wave will setup 5 collaborative community spaces in Jinja, Kampala, Mbarara, Gulu and Yumbe.

Our continuous search for empirical, tested and validated results inspires our learning. A design-led and agile process helps us discover ideas and solutions that have the potential to solve the ecosystems’ biggest challenge. NextWave learning will focus on finding and validating pathways that create more opportunities for young people to be better. Ultimately, our goal is to inspire, co-create and scale innovative solutions that are youth-led as well as support other ecosystem stakeholders to make transformational decisions.
